MV Strannik

Port - , Fiordland/Southland & West Coast

MV Strannik is a purpose built Expedition Yacht launched in 2018 for New Zealand biologist, historian, author and adventurer Rodney Russ. It was designed by the late George Buehler and built under strict RINA rules. It is in survey for unrestricted world wide cruising. It recently completed New Zealand survey and until the Pacific and beyond opens up in a post Covid-19 world it is working in and around New Zealand. Passengers are accommodated in comfortable twin share/double cabins with private facilities. Public areas are spacious and are adjacent to a modern galley. Guests are welcome in the wheel house which is equiped with the most up to date navigation and communication equipment. Naiad "active stabilisers" contribute to the comfort of the vessel which is equiped with a 425hp John Deere Engine as well as sails (ketch rigged). MV Strannik carries 2 tenders (4.8 metre Naiad and a 3.4 metre zodiac) for landings. Two 26Kw Northern Lights generators, solar panels and wind generators provide all the power and hot water we are likely to need. This is a go anywhere vessel designed by adventurers for adventurers and those looking for that special vessel.

The vessel has 4 dedicated/exclusive cabins for guest use. They all have their own ensuite (toilet and shower), portholes and sufficient storage lockers. Two of these 4 cabins have 2 lower berths (which can be pushed together to make a double berth) and 1 upper berth. The other two passenger cabins have 1 smaller lower double and one upper berth.

There are three separate crew cabins.
